Abstract: Novartis Biomedical Research has developed and scaled custom 3D-printed parallel photocatalysis reactors that enable convenient and low-cost chemical synthesis catalyzed by UV and visible light. Photoredox chemistry provides a route to novel small molecule chemical space that would be complicated or impossible to achieve with other methods. These 3D-printed reactors are compatible with labware used in upstream and downstream processes, rapidly adapted to changing requirements, and allow parallelization and scale-up of photoredox synthesis.
