Recent advancements in synthetic biology have increased the need for engineered genes, with the caveat that most synthetic DNA is procured from commercial vendors. This increasingly popular source material is subject to manufacturing lead times that impact research timelines. Enzymatic DNA Synthesis (EDS) offers unrestricted access to synthetic DNA and supports a rapid gene assembly workflow at the bench, powered by automated DNA oligo synthesis. Here we demonstrate the utility of the SYNTAX System to synthesize same-day oligos and support the assembly of 2kb genes in as little as three days.
