Abstract: It has been demonstrated clearly in breast and colon cancer that the treatment of subtype specific cancers is much more effective then the homogeneous treatment of all tumors within a tissue. Often sub typing involves understanding the specific network perturbations and protein expression patterns in cancerous tissue. An extremely accurate way to do that is to use large scale proteomics. Here we discuss the use of large scale proteomics for the prediction of precision treatments for cancer subtypes.
