Dr. Sudhakar Jha did his Ph.D. on microbial drug resistance at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Then, he moved to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia in the USA for his postdoctoral work on pathogen-induced cancers. He is an Associate Professor of Philological Science at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Oklahoma State University. Dr. Jha is a cancer biologist interested in deciphering how epigenetic pathways are deregulated during tumorigenesis. His group has identified, purified, and characterized multiple protein complexes hijacked by pathogens to promote growth.
