Dr. Wei Zheng obtained a medical degree from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine in China, and a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He joined pharmaceutical industry and had worked for twelve years in Berlex Biosciences, Amgen, and Merck for early drug discovery. Since 2005, Dr. Zheng has worked at National Institutes of Health (NIH) for translational research. Currently, he is a group leader at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) working on the therapeutics development for rare and neglected diseases.
