Dr. Fowler received his MD and completed his residency at the University of Texas. He then went on to complete a clinical fellowship in hematology/oncology at Georgetown University where he was chief fellow. Dr. Fowler served as a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma at the University of Texas, MD Anderson where his primary research interest was developing novel biologic regimens for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He led the clinical and translational research program for over a decade and personally pioneered several landmark projects leading to worldwide changes in medical practice.
He is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on drug development in oncology and novel biomarker approaches and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker at domestic and international conferences.
Dr. Fowler has written numerous chapters and textbooks and published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Recently, Dr. Fowler helped found BostonGene, a biomedical company focused on AI-based molecular and immune profiling to accelerate research and match patients to therapy based on next generation multi-omics. Prior to entering the medical field, Dr. Fowler served in the US Army as a nuclear, biological, and chemical defense specialist.
