Dr. McCaffrey is currently the Health System Medical Director of Augmented Intelligence and Disruptive Technologies as well as Director of the Division of Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Texas Medical Branch and Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Pragma Biosciences, a biotechnology startup using synthetic biology to manufacture natural product medicines. Dr. McCaffrey's expertise spans liquid handling automation, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure development. Dr. McCaffrey completed his medical training at Johns Hopkins, his Residency and Chief Residency in Pathology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and his Graduate training in Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Data Science at Stanford.
