Behrad Azimi is a bioengineer by training who has led diverse teams and programs in various biotech companies. He has been the technical lead for the development of multi-disciplinary products in novel drug discovery capital equipment, artificial intelligence analytical tools, and in vitro diagnostic instruments and consumables.
He cofounded Narwhal Bio Inc. to bridge the remarkable gap between functional cell phenotyping and cell purification. The company has developed a tool that enables the tagging and isolation of live cells based on complex phenotypes in the order of many millions of cells. He leads Narwhal’s engineering and its application development efforts in cell engineering, multiomic drug discovery, and cell therapy. He received his PhD from UCSD Bioengineering and has been active in the drug discovery community for the past 14 years.
