Takaaki Horinouchi is a senior researcher in Artificial Intelligence Research center at National Institute of Advanced Science and Technology Japan since 2021. His research interests include bioengineering, microbial bioproduction, cellular engineering, omics technology, and laboratory automation. He earned his degree from Osaka University in 2011 and worked as a researcher at RIKEN until 2020. In 2021, he received the Eastern Japan Branch Award from the Society for Biotechnology Japan, for his work in elucidating the stress tolerance mechanisms of E. coli using an evolutionary engineering and data-driven approach based on large omics data.
