The Fungitell® chromogenic assay is used to detect (1→3)-β-D-Glucan, a biomarker for invasive fungal disease. This Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) based assay requires a complex plate building process with numerous sample handling and pipetting steps including standard curve preparation, in-plate sample and control pretreatment and incubation, and reagent dispensing. As will be highlighted in this presentation, these time consuming and tedious steps can be accomplished using an Andrew+ robot. Specifically designed Andrew+ components, dominos, and inserts, allow direct use of ACC consumables on the deck enabling end-to-end plate building for Fungitell® as well as ACC’s endotoxin detection assays, Pyrochrome® and PyroSmart NextGen®.
