I'm a PhD student in Department of Biomedical Engineering at National University of Singapore. My research interest is using digital medicine technology to develop drug regimens for diseases. Currently, I am working on designing combination therapies with artificial intelligence to treat infectious diseases caused by transmissible pathogens, like SARS-CoV-2 virus, Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, nontuberculous Mycobacteria bacteria, among others. The objective is to utilise existing and available drugs for combinatorial therapies, which can help address the paucity of effective treatment options given that novel therapeutics require prolonged time to develop. The challenge is that the candidate drugs with their respective doses form a colossal searching space both time- and labour-costly to screen by experiments. Therefore, I am managing to pinpoint the right combinations and their concentrations at reduced cost with the help of artificial intelligence.
