I am an Application Scientist at BrainXell, my responsibilities are to (1) develop, carry-out, and analyze in-house electrophysiological screening assays with microelectrode arrays (MEAs) of our in-house cell bank as well as other various screening assays with ICC, or qPCR, and (2) assist companies in designing, conducting, and carrying out electrophysiological screening assays. I have a background in Biomedical Engineering with focus on disease modeling. My research interests include cell signaling mechanisms between peripheral or central neurons and glial cells involved in pain pathologies and neurological disorders, as well as phenotypic screening platform assay development for novel therapeutic screening. My work as a PhD student laid the groundwork for novel analgesic HIT discovery for pain pathologies in the Pain Research Lab at UMass Lowell. At UMass Lowell and UTDallas I attained extensive experience in iPSC differentiation and characterization, extracellular electrophysiology, immunocyto-/histochemistry, confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis, and statistical analysis.
