University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, United States
Yanxiang Deng is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and a member of Penn Epigenetics Institute, Institute on Aging, and Abramson Cancer Center. He obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). During his Ph.D., he developed microfluidic platforms for high-throughput single-cell mechanotyping and Intracellular delivery. Yanxiang then pursued his postdoctoral training in Biomedical Engineering at Yale University, during which he worked on developing new technologies for spatially resolved omics profiling. Yanxiang joined the faculty at Penn in 2023, and his lab is developing new tools at the intersection of microchip, microscopy, and genomics to study tissue complexity and reveal the features of tissue architecture in physiology and pathology. Yanxiang has recently been recognized by the 2023 Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering, Blavatnik Regional Awards for Young Scientists, and the NIAID New Innovators Award.
