Staff Scientist, R&D
Thermo Fisher Scientific
Marie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Her early career in a biotech startup, CellzDirect, was spent providing early discovery services for investigative drugs on P450 enzymes. While at CellzDirect, she became the lead analyst on the gene expression services which primarily focused on RNA expression profiles. It was during this time that Marie learned the importance of continuously optimizing end-to-end workflows.
Marie transitioned to the molecular biology R&D group that is now Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. in early 2010. Within the sample prep R&D team, Marie has been involved in numerous successful product launches for nucleic acid extraction methods, primarily focused in high-throughput spaces. She is currently a Staff Scientist for the Sample Prep Research and Translational group specializing in automated workflows.
