(1370-C) Robotics for Revolutionizing T Cell Engager Drug Discovery

Abstract: T cell engagers are a class of immunotherapy agents designed to harness the power of the immune system to target and destroy cancer cells. Finding T Cell engager biologics with the right potency, affinity, specificity, and manufacturing characteristics to become a suitable drug is challenging. Identifying this critical combination of properties requires screening large numbers of biomolecules in different assays to sufficiently exploit the diversity of in vitro display libraries. Such high-throughput screening of 1000s-10,000s biomolecules simultaneously is essential in the biopharmaceutical industry and requires the use of robotics to enable scaling up the production and characterisation of biological test samples. This poster identifies opportunities in T cell engager discovery where automation could scale up the drug discovery processes and increase throughput by at least an order of magnitude. This would enable access to a greater diversity of potential drug molecules to be assessed in a shorter timeframe, so that rare drug molecules with the desirable properties can be discovered.
